Technology

Technology is the creation of human mind and the practical application of knowledge. It is absolutely connected with science. When the scientific knowledge is applied to the problems of human life, then it becomes technology.

Technology is systematic knowledge, which is put in to practice, that is, to use tools, and run machines, and ti do such other things to serve human purposes. Science is theoretical knowledge whereas technology as practical. Hence science and technology go together.

The systematic knowledge for products manufacture or service provision in industry, farming, and other commercial field is define as technology. Technology consists of series of techniques and It includes methods used in marketed and non marketed activities, nature and specification of the product and its technique.

Technology must be transfer and must be systematic that can satisfy needs and problem that arise in specific fields of human activities including industry and commerce.

Technology is a critical link between the supply of energy service and access affordability and environmental compatibility. Following are the three standers behind knowledge to be technology.

Key elements of technology

1.       A scientific discovery or an addition to technical knowledge
2.       An invention that is making the use of already existing knowledge to useful end
3.       In innovation implying a significant application of an invention to economic production
4.       An improvement, signifying a minor useful change in an invention
5.       The spread of invention usually accompanied by improvement

Technology is the knowledge that leads to improve machinery, products, and processes. Addition to this knowledge, reduce to real cost ot production and lead to the introduction of new product.” World development report

Technology is defined as any systematized practical knowledge based on experimentation and scientific theory which enhance the capacity of the society to produce goods and services.” Banard jendren

Technology is the scientific discoveries to solve practical problems.” Horton and hunts

Technology consists of series of techniques. It includes methods, used in marketed and non-marketed activities, nature and specification of the product produced and its techniques. It also includes managerial, marketing and information services.” According to frances stewart

Practical action’s sees technology as a vital contributor to people’s livelihoods. Crucially, our definition of technology includes the physical infrastructure, machinery and equipment, and the associated knowledge and skills and the capacity to organize and use all of these.” Practical action

As technology can be embodied in various forms, such as machinery equipment, documents, process and skills, it conveys different meanings to various people under different context. In order to avoid any ambiguity, technology is defined here with respect to origin purpose and characteristics. Technology is manmade; it is a means to enhance the physical and mental capacities of human beings.

Technology is defined as the systematic knowledge for product manufacture and service provision in industry, farming and commercial fields and knowledge is reflected in inventions, utility models, designs, and in data forms. In this definition, it not all knowledge is included. That is, it must be able to be transferred and it must be systematic knowledge that can satisfy needs and problems that arise in special fields of human activity including industry, farming and commerce.

So , there are three standards in the definition of technology.

First knowledge must be systematic. This means that it must be organized in terms of providing solutions to problems.

Second, knowledge must exist in certain places lke in someone’s head or in documents, and must be able to be presented, so no matter what it means it must be able to be transferred from one person to another.

Third it must have purpose –orientation, so that it can be utilized for useful purpose in industry, farming and commercial fields.
