Any technology
to be appropriate must be economically affordable, socio-culturally suitable
and environmentally sustainable. People will adopt a technology only if it
meets the following requirements.
1.
The technology must be useful responding to the
farmers perceive needs or problems.
2.
It must be acceptable. The people must be able
to obtain it using available resources.
3.
Ti must be adaptable to the people’s overall
production system.
4.
It must be compatible with the people’s
socio-cultural systems and its application must not compete with any deeply
rooted belied or practices. People neglect to attach toilet to the biogas plant
because of the socio-cultural taboo.
5.
Must address felt needs of farmers
6.
Adoptable for production process.
7.
Compatible for with social cultural system.
8.
Environment friendly, economical and simple.
